Flashcards for YouTube™ (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension that generates flashcards from YouTube videos. This policy explains what data the extension handles.
When you click “Generate” on a YouTube video, the extension sends the YouTube video URL and your chosen card language to Google’s Gemini API. Gemini analyzes the video content and returns flashcard questions and answers, which are displayed in the extension and saved locally in your browser.
Nothing. The extension has no servers, no user accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. The developer of this extension does not receive, store, or have access to any of your data.
When you choose to generate flashcards, the YouTube video URL and language preference are sent directly from your browser to Google’s Gemini API. Google’s handling of this data is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
Generated flashcard decks and your language preference are stored in your browser using Chrome’s local storage. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension or clearing your browser data.
The extension is not directed at children under 13.
